Paul Boutilier
Boutilier is an assistant coach with the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs. In June, Hockey Canada selected him to be the Head Coach of Canada's U17 team challenging for a world championship in November.
As a player, former winner of the QMJHL's Emile Bouchard Trophy for Best Defenceman in 1982, with his Sherbrooke Beavers going on to win the Presidents Trophy.
Boutilier was twice a member of Canada’s National Junior Team, winning gold in 1982 and bronze in 1983 at the IIHF World Junior Championship; Spengler Cup Championship; and post NHL career, played 2 years with the Bern of the Swiss A League.
Boutilier has career totals of 627 professional games, playing 329 NHL games over 8 seasons in the NHL with Boston, Minnesota, New York, and Winnipeg from 1982-89. He was a member of the 1983 New York Islanders Stanley Cup Championship team, and is a proud member of the Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Halls of Fame.
